HTC Breeze – 18:9 ratio mid-range device from HTC:
Evan Blass announces on Twitter the upcoming arrival of a future HTC smartphone, code-named “Breeze”. Although equipped with an 18:9 screen, it includes entry-level components.
According to an often knowledgeable Evan Blass, the HTC “Breeze” (codename) will display a modest technical data sheet: Mediatek processor, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of storage, 13-megapixel camera and 2730 mAh battery. It will be sold at a price that “reflects” its characteristics.
HTC’s got an upcoming 5.5″ phone, Breeze (second time as HTC codename), that’s mostly notable for pushing full screen, 18:9 aspect ratio down to entry level. Therefore specs are nothing special (Mediatek SoC, 2/16GB, 13/5MP, 2730mAh, etc), and it should be priced to reflect that.

The screen, however, is in the 18:9 format, which makes the blogger say that it would be unusual for an entry-level smartphone brand. HTC’s first 18: 9 model is the HTC U11 +, its latest flagship.
It seems that the future Breeze will not be isolated. Among its Zenfone 5 range, which will be unveiled at the Mobile World Congress, Asus will announce at least one model equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 processor, and incorporating a “borderless” screen (in quotation marks, because the patterns reveal pretty edges despite everything ).
Having debuted on the high-end early 2017 (Samsung Galaxy S8, LG G6) and have seen its integration go down to the mid-range with models like the Samsung Galaxy A8 or the Honor View 10, the screens 18: 9 seem so well set to gain ground, even on the least expensive terminals. To date, Huawei and Honor have already conquered the field with the Honor 7X and Huawei P smart.
